NEXCOM Launches NViS 6712 AI-Ready NVR Platform for Smart Factory Video Workloads
High-capacity recording, fast data access, and expandable edge AI

Taipei, Taiwan – September 16, 2026 – NEXCOM today announced the NViS 6712, a 2U NVR hardware platform designed for system integrators building high-capacity video recording, monitoring, and AI analytics systems. The platform combines 12 hot-swappable HDD bays supporting up to 312 TB of raw video storage with dual NVMe SSDs, Intel® Core™ Series 2 P-core processing, and PCIe Gen5 expansion for configurable AI acceleration.

As cameras generate higher-resolution streams and video is increasingly used for production monitoring, safety, search and analytics, as well as recording, systems must support a greater number of concurrent applications. NViS 6712 separates high-volume video retention from latency-sensitive applications, database, and analytics workloads, allowing continuous recording to run alongside VMS, playback, and AI processing.

Separate Video Retention from Active Workloads

Twelve 3.5-inch HDD bays provide up to 312 TB of raw JBOD capacity for high-volume camera streams and long-duration retention. Two M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs provide fast storage for VMS applications, databases, metadata, AI cache, and other latency-sensitive tasks, while an additional M.2 SATA SSD provides further dedicated storage. This architecture reduces I/O contention between continuous recording and data-intensive applications.

For scenarios requiring data protection, the platform can also be configured with a hardware RAID controller via PCIe expansion, giving integrators flexibility to create a storage architecture optimized for the intended use case.

Keep Recording and Analytics Running Together

NViS 6712 supports Intel® Core™ Series 2 processors with a P-core-only architecture, supporting configurations with up to 12 Performance-cores, 24 processing threads, and Max Turbo frequency of 5.9 GHz. The P-core design provides high-performance compute resources for simultaneous recording, VMS, playback, database, video-processing, and analytics workloads.

Configure AI Acceleration for the Application

A PCIe Gen5 x16 expansion slot allows system integrators to select graphics or AI acceleration according to deployment needs rather than relying on a fixed configuration. NViS 6712 supports dual-slot accelerator cards up to 260 mm long, two expansion slots wide and up to 250 W, with supported Intel and NVIDIA graphics options.

An M.2 interface supports the Hailo-8 AI accelerator, providing another option for local inference. Together with Intel® OpenVINO™ and Intel® Quick Sync Video, these expansion options support applications such as object recognition, event detection, image analysis and intelligent video search.

For configurations requiring both a RAID controller and graphics expansion, an optional riser provides two PCIe x8 interfaces, enabling the concurrent installation of a hardware RAID controller and a compatible single-slot graphics card.

Use Video for Smart Factory Monitoring and Analytics

Beyond conventional surveillance, NViS 6712 can support smart factory and industrial monitoring applications where camera streams provide operational data for production-line monitoring, worker safety, anomaly detection and other visual-analytics workloads. Large quantities of video remain available locally for historical investigation and further analysis, while visual information collected at the edge can augment machine and sensor data for higher-level operational analytics and digital twin environments.

For emerging Physical AI workflows, the platform can also serve as a local visual data collection and preprocessing node. Large volumes of real-world footage are retained on HDD storage, while NVMe storage supports active workloads. Applications and optional accelerators handle recognition, labeling and preprocessing before selected data is passed to downstream AI training or analytics systems.

Keep High-Volume Video Local

NViS 6712 can function as a local recording and analytics node in cloud-connected deployments. High-volume video can remain stored and processed on-site while selected footage, events, metadata or alerts are transmitted to centralized or cloud applications, reducing the need for continuous raw video transmission across the network while maintaining remote access and centralized visibility.

“The challenge has evolved beyond merely recording vast amounts of video,” stated Steve Yang, General Manager of NEXCOM Smart Vision (GreenBase). “In smart factories and AI-enabled environments, that video is becoming operational data that needs to remain accessible for monitoring, search, and analytics. The NViS 6712 gives system integrators the flexibility to configure systems around specific application requirements and adapt them as workloads evolve.”
