Japanese Startup Lamponi Launches AI Meeting Assistant for Recording, Transcription, and Cross-Meeting Recall
Application offers real-time transcription with speaker separation, a persistent contact and meeting memory, and shareable recordings with an associated AI chat function.

TOKYO, Japan – Murasaki Italia K.K today announced the launch of Lamponi, an AI meeting assistant and note-taking application for macOS along with a mobile web recorder and browser-based app. The application is available for download today at no cost, with paid tiers available for additional usage.

Lamponi records and transcribes meetings in real time, separating and labeling individual speakers as they talk. The application supports more than 60 languages, including conversations that switch between languages such as Japanese and English within a single exchange. No meeting bot joins the call; recording is handled directly through screen and audio capture.

During a meeting, users can ask the application questions about the conversation and receive answers based on the transcript and related context, including information the application has previously recorded about the people involved. This context is maintained in a feature called the Lamponi Vault, which retains information about individuals and organizations discussed across a user’s meeting history.

The application also includes a cross-meeting search feature, referred to internally as the Home area, that allows users to query information across their full meeting history rather than a single recording.

Separately, Lamponi supports recorded screen shares paired with narration. Each recording can be shared as a link that includes an AI chat interface trained on that recording’s transcript, allowing a recipient to ask questions about the content directly rather than reviewing the full video.

All recordings are encrypted end-to-end before leaving the user’s device, according to the company.

“We built this because we found ourselves forgetting details from meetings shortly after they ended,” said a company representative. “The goal was an application that retains what was discussed and can be asked about it directly.”

Lamponi is developed by Murasaki Italia K.K., based in Tokyo. The company said its focus on multilingual conversations, including mixed Japanese-English dialogue, distinguishes the product from meeting tools developed primarily for English-language use.

Pricing:

A free tier includes five hours of recording per month. Paid tiers include Pro at $29.99 per month and Unlimited at $79.99 per month, plus a custom Enterprise tier for organizations.

Availability:

Lamponi is available for download today at lamponi.ai for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), with Windows, Linux, and as a web and mobile application coming soon.
