Avinity Health, a physician-directed health clinic and med spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, now offers Selphyller\u2122 plasma gel, a natural under-eye filler alternative made from a patient\u2019s own blood using the Selphyl\u00ae System.<\/div>\n

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA – September 3, 2026 – <\/strong>Avinity Health<\/a>, a physician-directed longevity medicine and medical aesthetics clinic in Scottsdale, announced today that it now offers Selphyller™ plasma gel, an injectable volume treatment prepared entirely from a patient’s own blood. The treatment gives patients throughout Scottsdale and the Phoenix area an alternative to synthetic dermal filler for under-eye hollows, dark circles, temples, cheeks, and other areas of facial volume loss.<\/p>\n

Selphyller™ plasma gel is prepared during the patient’s appointment. A small blood sample is drawn and processed in the Selphyl® System, an FDA-cleared device used to prepare platelet-rich plasma from a patient’s own blood at the point of care. The platelet-rich plasma is then converted into platelet-rich fibrin matrix. The resulting platelet-rich fibrin matrix, a structure that holds the patient’s platelets and growth factors, is then converted into a smooth injectable gel through a controlled heating step. No synthetic materials, donor tissue, or added thickeners are used in the preparation.<\/p>\n

The treatment addresses a concern the clinic hears frequently in consultations: patients who want to improve under-eye hollows or facial volume loss but are looking for an alternative to traditional hyaluronic acid filler. Because the skin beneath the eyes is particularly thin, hyaluronic acid filler placed too close to the skin’s surface can sometimes create a subtle bluish appearance. It can also attract and retain water, which may contribute to unwanted puffiness in some patients. This treatment instead uses an opaque gel created from the patient’s own blood, providing natural-looking volume without the risk of a blue tint while supporting the body’s natural regenerative processes. Over time, the gel is gradually absorbed as the treatment continues to support collagen production and improvements in skin quality.<\/p>\n

“The under-eye area is where patients are most cautious, and they are right to be,” said Emily Dawson, DHA, MBA, MSN, RN, co-founder and Clinical Director of Avinity Health. “What draws people to plasma gel is that it works two ways at once. You see soft volume the day it is placed, and the platelets inside the gel keep signaling your skin to build its own collagen for months afterward. Avinity Health selected Selphyller™ over other plasma gel preparations because of how it is made. Many products marketed as “bio filler” or “plasma gel” build their volume from albumin, a protein recovered from the platelet-poor portion of the blood, which is then heated and mixed back with a smaller platelet-rich fraction. Selphyller™ is made from the platelet-rich fibrin matrix itself, so the material providing the volume is the same material carrying the platelets and growth factors. The preparation also takes place in a closed system, which reduces handling of the sample and keeps results consistent between visits.<\/p>\n

“Not every plasma gel is the same product, even though they sound alike,” Dawson said. “Most are bulked up with heated albumin from the low-platelet part of the blood. Selphyller™ is different. Selphyller™ plasma gel appointments at Avinity Health take approximately 60 to 75 minutes, most of which is preparation and numbing. Treatment areas include the under-eyes and tear troughs, temples, cheeks and mid-face, smile lines, lip lines, neck, and hands. The clinic also treats facial volume loss following significant weight loss, including patients on GLP-1 medications.
