The CityMax Group Potato Full Growth Cycle Nutrition Program is designed to maximize yield, quality, and marketable tuber production through stage-specific nutrient management. By integrating humic substances, biostimulants, water-soluble fertilizers, and micronutrients, the program improves soil health, stimulates root development, supports balanced vegetative growth, enhances tuber initiation and bulking, and promotes starch accumulation. This comprehensive approach helps overcome common challenges such as soil compaction, continuous-cropping stress, and low nutrient-use efficiency, delivering stable yields, improved tuber quality, and higher economic returns for potato growers.

Potato, as the world’s fourth-largest food crop, develops its yield through the coordinated process of soil health, root development, canopy growth, tuber formation, and dry matter accumulation. From emergence and root establishment to tuber initiation, bulking, and final starch accumulation, each growth stage requires different levels and balances of nutrients. Scientific nutrient management is therefore essential for achieving high yield, premium quality, and a high marketable tuber rate.

To address common production challenges such as soil compaction, continuous-cropping obstacles, weak root systems, low nutrient-use efficiency, and uneven tuber bulking, CityMax Group has developed a comprehensive potato nutrition program. By integrating humic substances, biostimulants, water-soluble fertilizers, and secondary and micronutrients, this program provides complete nutritional support from soil improvement and root establishment to tuber enlargement and quality enhancement.

Ⅰ.Nutritional Characteristics of Potato

Potato is a nutrient-demanding crop. Under high-yield production systems, the nutrient uptake ratio is approximately:

N : P₂O₅ : K₂O = 1 : 0.5 : 1.5

Potassium is required in the largest quantity and plays a critical role in tuber initiation, enlargement, and quality development.

Nutrient requirements vary throughout the growth cycle:

  • Seedling stage: promotes root establishment and vigorous early growth.
  • Vegetative growth to tuber initiation: requires balanced nutrition to support canopy development.
  • Tuber initiation and bulking: demands high levels of potassium, calcium, and boron to enhance tuber formation and enlargement.
  • Starch accumulation stage: requires high potassium combined with amino acids and micronutrients to improve dry matter content and marketable yield.

In many potato-growing regions, continuous cropping often results in soil compaction, salinity buildup, and increased soil-borne diseases. Therefore, nutrient management should focus not only on fertilizer supply but also on soil activation and rhizosphere improvement.

All liquid fertilizers are recommended for application through fertigation systems to maximize nutrient-use efficiency.

Foliar fertilizers may be tank-mixed with compatible low-toxicity fungicides or insecticides. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline pesticides.

Humc-acid-based products should not be mixed directly with conventional calcium or magnesium fertilizers to prevent precipitation and irrigation system blockage.
