Due to the increase of the global social media users, many companies have begun to expand business operations via social media channels, including managing the company’s official social media page or creating an online company profile. To assist Taiwanese SMEs in further digital trade development, Taiwantrade invited guest speakers from Facebook and LinkedIn to share the latest trends of social media and how to build a successful brand on social media platforms. The event attracted more than 400 people to participate.

According to Taiwantrade, companies can easily communicate with potential clients and can build up brand awareness effectively through social media management. In the future, Taiwantrade will continue to arrange various social media marketing courses for Taiwanese manufacturers to explore more online business network. Research shows that more than 70% of B2B senior managers would refer to information on social media platforms during their procurement process, stated by Walter Yeh, the CEO of TAITRA. Therefore, Taiwantrade, the largest e-portal operated by the TAITRA and organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), held the event to share how to explore social media networks and turn them into potential business opportunities. This year, Taiwantrade also provides added value services to reinforce digital trade competitiveness and strengthen international business development including international press release distribution, product photography, online content creation, video and image assets production, etc.

Furthermore, Taiwantrade has signed an MOU with eBay, which was also invited to share some perspectives to the future of cross-border e-commerce in the event. Bernard Loo, business development director of eBay Greater China, stated that digital natives, influencer marketing and social media are all crucial factors for the future of e-commerce.

Taiwantrade.com announced that in addition to digital marketing counseling service for SMEs, there will be B2B2C online sales coaching as well to assist manufacturers in activating digital trade and using online ordering system. The communication between manufacturers and international buyers will be improved with mobile capability as well to shorten the buyers’ procurement process.

Meanwhile, Taiwantrade will continue to cooperate with Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media platforms to introduce outstanding Taiwanese manufacturers that have received the Mittelstand Award or the Rising Star Award to international buyers around the world.
